Story
Dedication to Tradition
Omkar, a renowned harmonium player and pianist, dedicates his life in honoring the harmonium, and its rich musical heritage. Initiated into music by his grandfather Surmani Pt. Uttamrao Agnihotri, he continued his training of Harmonium and Vocals for 12 years. He has received honors like the Hridayesh Arts Award and All India Radio (B High Grade), demonstrating his deep commitment to his art.
He first performed at age 5 and has transcended musical boundaries, mastering a plethora of key instruments including the piano, reed organ, pianica, and keyboard. Omkar seeks advanced Harmonium training from Suralayaratna Pt. Vishwanath Kanhere and Ustad Siraj Khan, while learning Piano from Mr. Adwait Biwalkar and Keyboard from Mr. Nilesh Dewasthali. Not only a performer, Omkar is also a skilled music producer, recognized for producing music for GenLeap, anthem song for the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, and more.
A visionary, Omkar is on a mission to elevate the harmonium as a solo instrument, pushing the boundaries of its potential. His artistry has earned him a place as an empaneled artiste of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Omkar unveiled his revolutionary creation, the Rezhonium, at Upaj, an avant-garde festival of Innovations in Performing Arts at G20 in Gurugram, hosted by the Pandit Jasraj Cultural Foundation.
